My Next Book

Posted on November 23, 2021 by t.r.preston

I thought I’d drop a post to update those interested on what my next project is.

Currently I am working on a Middle-Grade fantasy novel called ‘Kelsey and Mr. Caramel’. That name is subject to change, but it’s the most likely choice at this time. This book will take place in the same world as my other fantasy series, ‘Wenworld’. However, Kelsey and Mr. Caramel takes place many years before the events of the first Wenworld book. It will not be necessary to read Wenworld before reading Kelsey and Mr. Caramel. The book will act as a standalone project. But reading Wenworld before or after will provide you with some enjoyable experiences as you notice the various connections.

You can consider the inspiration for Kelsey and Mr. Caramel to be a mixture of Alice in Wonderland and The Hobbit. It is a whimsical adventure story of a young girl who must help a talking rabbit named Mr. Caramel deliver a very special briefcase across the strange and dangerous land that is Wenworld. (The purpose of this quest will only be revealed in the telling of the tale).

I am aiming to have this book stand at around 80,000 words. It could be more, or it could be less. I am predicting it will be less than that, but I’ve been wrong before when it comes to projecting word counts. We shall see.

Well, now you’re caught up. I hope you keep an eye out for my next work, and I hope even more that you enjoy it when it arrives.

Thanks!
